OUR HISTORY IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

Simply the Best Talent evolved from Daddy Cools Entertainment in 2014.
Steve Marshall the President of Simply the Best Talent has been involved in every part of the entertainment industry for 40 years.
Experience as a Musician
Steve started performing in clubs and touring as a drummer in the early 70’s. Of course he was too young to be in the bars at that time but that is where he started. To date Steve still performs as the drummer in the Luisa Marshall Cover Band and the Luisa Marshall as Tina Turner Show. So Steve knows what its like to be a musician traveling on the road.
Experience as a venue talent buyer
In 1988 Steve opened a bar in Masset BC on Haida Gwaii called Daddy Cools Pub. It is called Mile Zero Pub today and is still owned and operated remotely by Steve Marshall. Back then there were bands 6 days a week in Daddy Cools. Steve went from the travelling player to the Venue talent booker. At that point he knew what it was like to be touring in a band so he knew how bands should be handled as they came through. Steve was now the venue talent buyer for 15 years.
Experience as a Booking Agent
Steve moved to Vancouver in the 90’s and started Daddy Cools Entertainment which was his first talent booking agency. Steve has been booking bands for weddings, Casino’s, Corporate Events, Fairs ever since.
Experience as a Producer
Steve produced TINA A ROCK N ROLL JOURNEY in the early 2000’s and has been producing many show of the Tribute Luisa Marshall as Tina Turner. The show went into 30 theatres around Canada and down to Florida. There was a standing ovation at every show. Marshall dealt with all the travel, technical needs of every show plus he hired a drummer and became the sound and lighting tech on the tours.
Experience as a Sound and Lighting Technician
Steve had his first sound system in the early 70’s. The Roland Space Echo Unit. is an Analog echo unit. It had tape running around inside. “It was the coolest thing on the planet at that time says” Marshall. That is when Steve got involved with sound systems for bands. He always owned his own system. Steve even built his own 220 switching system from scratch. This is very beneficial to both the event planner and the act. We don’t want any last minute issues that happen because nobody looked after the details.
